Ingredients of Pesarapappu Payasam Recipe
- Moong dal (Split Green gram) - 1 Cup
- Milk - 1 Cup
- Powdered Sugar - 1 Cup
- Water - 2 Cups
- Cardamom powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Ghee - 2 Teaspoons
- Cashew nuts - 8
How to Make Pesarapappu Payasam
Step 1: Heat ghee in a pan, add cashew nuts and fry them until golden brown. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: In the same pan, add moong dal and fry until it turns light golden brown.
Step 3: Now, Place this roasted moong dal in a pressure cooker along with 2 cups of water and pressure cook the dal for three whistles. Remove from the heat and wait until the pressure goes off.
Step 4: Add the Powdered sugar and jaggery to cooked dal and allow the jaggery to melt.
Step 5: Finally, add the milk, roasted cashew nuts, and cardamom powder and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 6: Serve it and enjoy.
