Lamb Meatballs
Lamb Meatballs is semi-dry lamb dish. It is flavored with various herbs and spices. At home, I make many different varieties of meat dishes using lamb. My first attempt with lamb dish was the lamb vindaloo. Now, here I am trying another lamb recipe which is a standalone dish. It is not much time consuming; it can be ready within half an hour. This can be wholesome and serve as the main course. This lamb dish is very luscious and tasty.
Ingredients of Lamb Meatballs Recipe
- To Make Lamb Meatballs
- Olive oil - 3 Tablespoons
- Lean ground lamb - 450 gm
- Diced shallot - 1
- Dijon mustard - 1 Tablespoon
- Breadcrumbs, soaked in ¼ cup milk - 1/2 Cup
- Paprika - 1 Tablespoon
- Sambal olek - 1 Teaspoon
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Some fresh pepper
- To Make Tomato Sauce
- Minced onion - 1
- Minced garlic cloves - 2
- Finely diced carrot - 1
- Finely diced celery stalk - 1
- Minced red chili pepper - 1/2
- Canned tomatoes - 2 Cups
- Diced large tomatoes - 4
- Springs of fresh oregano - 2
- Water - 1/4 Cup
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Pepper - 1 Teaspoon
- For Garnishing
- Soft goat cheese - 1/4 Cup
- Chopped parsley - 1 Tablespoon
How to Make Lamb Meatballs
To Make Lamb Meatballs
Step 1: In a bowl, combine all ingredients except oil.
Step 2: Once the mixture is ready, make about 20 small meatballs.
Step 3: In a wide pan, heat oil and sear the meatballs on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
To Make Tomato Sauce
Step 1: In the same pan, sauté the onions until translucent, about 2 minutes.
Step 2: Add celery, carrots, garlic and chili pepper and continues cooking for another 2 minutes.
Step 3: Now, add tomatoes, oregano, and water. Season it with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Once sauce is done place the meatballs back in the pan and continue cooking for 20 minutes or until the meatballs are fully cooked.
Step 5: Garnish it with goat cheese, and parsley savors it with warm buttered naan bread.
