Whenever I need light but a wholesome snack at the instant, I always reach out for this recipe. Oats Khichu is so delicious that your family or even kids will gobble them up happily.
My mom always uses to make khichu as a light evening snack, and I really enjoyed eating it during my childhood. I have tried many more variations of khichu, but my today’s post is oats khichu so back to this recipe. I’ve prepared it with four ingredients only which are oats as the main ingredient and cumin seeds, salt and water. I like these oats khichu but the authentic one the most.

How to Make Oats Khichu
Step 1: In a bowl, mix oats powder along with cumin seeds and salt. Add water till the oats achieve a thin consistency. It must be slightly thinner than your average idli batter.
Step 2: Grease a dish and add the batter to the dish.
Step 3: Take a big vessel with water and bring sufficient water to boil and place the dish with the batter inside and cover the vessel. Let this khichu steam for about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4: When you lift the lid if the khichu has risen, then it is cooked. Remove from the vessel.
Step 5: Your khichu is ready to serve. Savour it with a mix of oil, chilli powder and a pinch of salt.
