Gobhi Musallam is a fantastic north Indian recipe. It is a dish that is specially served at lunch or dinner. Musallam is a Mughlai word which means whole and Gobhi Musallam means whole cauliflower.
In this recipe, cauliflower is par steamed in the salted water and then par steamed gobi is cooked with spicy onion, tomato paste, and spices in the microwave. Ingredients of Gobhi Musallam Recipe
- Cauliflower - 250 gm
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 1
- Ginger - 1 Tablespoon
- Coriander leaves - 1 Tablespoon
- Fat - 10 gm
- Breadcrumbs - 1 Teaspoon
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/8 Tablespoon
- Red chilli powder - ¼ Tablespoon
- Garam masala powder - ¼ Tablespoon
- Garlic cloves - 4
How to Make Gobhi Musallam
Step 1: Steam the whole cauliflower in salted water till it is slightly tender.
Step 2: Now, grind onion, ginger, and garlic to a paste.
Step 3: Blanch tomatoes.
Step 4: Now, take a kadhai and heat ghee and fry onion, ginger and garlic paste till it becomes golden brown.
Step 5: Add blanched tomatoes and fry for few minutes.
Step 6: Add dry masalas and cook the mixture by adding a small amount of water which was left after boiling the cauliflower.
Step 7: Now, Remove the masala and fill it in the cauliflower and cover it with the rest of the mixture.
Step 8: Now, sprinkle some breadcrumbs and cake or grill at 190°C in the microwave until it becomes golden brown.
Step 9: Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or chapatis.
